DAY STREET BOARD RIDERS

One of the first Surf clubs.

Possibly the first boardriding club formed south of Adelaide. Established around 1962 or 1963.  The club built a shack on the shoreline of the Day Street surf break east of Middleton. Some of the early club members included Don Burford, Pete Smith, Malcolm Lock, Ian “Spud” Tait, William Johnson, Bob Boulton, Barry Matulik etc
